ABC Newcastle Mornings – Winners and losers of the Australian election & market volatility

I recently joined Paul Turton on ABC Newcastle Mornings to discuss current market volatility and what investors might expect under a Labor government.

We touched on the unpredictable influence of Donald Trump – from talk of firing the Federal Reserve Chairman to his “Liberation Day” tariffs – which has fuelled market turbulence. However, there are signs that the worst of this Trump-inspired volatility may be behind us, with some anticipating a more measured and palatable approach to tariffs going forward.

Closer to home, we explored the implications of the Australian Federal Election. In healthcare, for instance, a Labor government could benefit diagnostic and pathology providers by boosting patient referral volumes, while a stronger public system may pose challenges for private health insurers.
